The image features a minimalist logo with the words “THE NEST” in a clean, modern font and “BY AMETHYST SNAKE” below. A brushstroke-style circle partially surrounds the text, giving it an artistic touch. A detailed purple snake is coiled elegantly inside the circle, with its head facing the bottom right. The logo combines simplicity with refinement, reflecting the brand’s identity and focusing on artistry and symbolism through the snake and nest imagery.

Hi! My name is Amethyst Snake, or Amee for short. I’m an independent and creative individual with a penchant for the spontaneous! I’ve lived what feels like a hundred lives and experienced more life than most people will in a lifetime. I’ve been on both sides of the argument countless times and played every role from hero to villain. I’ve been called many things and am known for even more. But one thing I’m not known for is journaling. That said, I enjoy a safe space as much as the next person, and as much as I hate to admit it, I enjoy writing.

Come to think of it, it’s no surprise that what started as a name for my personal rope studio has grown into a blog where I will begin documenting and reflecting on my rope journey thus far and in the future.

The image shows a cozy, minimalist setup in a dimly lit room with a black wall in the background. A leather ottoman sits on the left side, and a light-colored faux fur rug rests on a patterned red and cream area rug on the floor. In the foreground, a tripod with a ring light and phone mount is positioned, likely for photography or video recording purposes. Sunlight filters through a nearby window, casting a warm glow on the scene.

The majority of my rope experience is in rope modeling. However, I’ve recently begun pursuing formal lessons on the traditional forms of Shibari. In doing so, I hope to become an even more well-rounded rope model and further hone my eye for detail and aesthetics in rope.

The image shows a minimalist, spacious room with a low perspective, focusing on the textured gray and white area rug that covers most of the floor. The walls are painted in a deep plum color, and one window lets in soft, natural light from the right. A few small objects are on the ledge below the window, and in the corner sits a woven basket. The room has a peaceful, serene ambiance and a clean, uncluttered look.

So, what does all of this have to do with rope? Everything. The more I’ve experienced rope and met those who practice it, the more I’ve realized that I can learn so much about a person simply by how they approach a tie, let alone a scene. Even something as simple as a single-column tie can be telling. It’s incredible, really!

I’m looking forward to sharing my rope journey with you, and I hope it inspires you to find your own path, whatever that may be. Because although hobbies, like the opinions of others, don’t define us, I like to think that in everything we create, there’s a little bit of us.

Kisses, hugs & bights,

Amee
